A number of independent organizations, including U.S. News and World Report, has recognized the value and strength of an Assumption University education.
"Best Regional University": U.S. News & World Report again named Assumption a “Best Regional Universities” in its 2022 Best Colleges guide, ranking the College in the top quarter of approximately 200 regional universities in the north that offer bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
"Best Value": Also in its 2022 Best Colleges Guide, U.S. News & World Report recognized Assumption College as a "Best Value - Regional Universities North". University Research and Review also recognized Assumption as a "Best Value" citing the College's excellence in affordability, graduation statistics and overall student satisfaction.
"Top Performer": Finally, U.S. News & World Report recognized Assumption as a top performer on social mobility, the organization’s recognition for an institution’s ability and commitment to serve low-income students.
“Best 387 Colleges”: The Princeton Review named Assumption to its 2022 “Best 387 Colleges” list in recognition of the College’s strong academic programs and faculty commitment to student success. The Princeton Review again named Assumption one of the “Best Regional Colleges” in the Northeast.
"Best Colleges for Your Money": Money Magazine named Assumption College to its 2021 "Best Colleges for Your Money" list, ranking Assumption in the top half of colleges and universities.
The Wall Street Journal/ Times Higher Education ranked Assumption in the top 1/2 of colleges in the country and in the top 1/2 of colleges in the Northeast.
Best Value Schools named Assumption the 11th best college in Massachusetts for "providing a quality education" to its students.
"America's Top Colleges": Forbes ranked Assumption as a top college in the nation for its community service offerings, in particular, it’s Campus Ministry partnership with organizations like Big Brother/Big Sisters, Elm Park Community School and Worcester Housing Authority; as well as the College’s 12 annual service trips and five service clubs, providing students with ample volunteer opportunities. Also of note was Assumption’s nearly 60 clubs, organizations and intramural teams.

Return on Investment: The New England Board of Higher Education ranked Assumption 14th of 51 Massachusetts colleges and universities for a student's return on investment.

- Football won its second NE10 Title in the last three years. They advanced to the NCAA National Quarterfinals game.
- Women’s Cross Country won the program’s first-ever NCAA East Region Championship to earn its second straight trip to the NCAA Championships.
- 2017-18 academic year, there were seven student-athletes from four different sports named All-Americans.
