It is with great pleasure that I welcome you into the Assumption School of Nursing (SoN) community. You chose to pursue a profession that society consistently rates as the most honest and ethical – 18 years in a row! It is in this spirit of professionalism, compassion, and ethical integrity, that the Assumption SoN was developed.

As a graduate of Assumption SoN, you are prepared as a nurse generalist with clinical experiences across various specialties and with diverse patient populations. The curriculum is infused with and sustained by the traditional Catholic commitment to reverence for human life and the dignity of every human person. As a professional nurse, you will directly impact the health of individuals, families, and communities, focusing on the physical, social, psychological, and spiritual determinants that influence health outcomes.  A nurse educated at Assumption promotes human agency and advocates for those who cannot do so for themselves.

The SoN expands on core values found across the Assumption campus to form graduates that are known for critical intelligence that supports the clinical judgment necessary to work in today’s dynamic healthcare system. You will be challenged throughout the nursing program; yet this challenge comes with accompanying support and encouragement to be the “best version of self.” This is a phrase that you will hear often in the SoN; as you embark on the liberal arts education, take the opportunity to establish this “self” and let us assist you in achieving your goals and positively impact the health of the local and global society.

Nursing 2023

I’ve found my purpose at Assumption.

The new nursing program, the state-of-the-art health science building, and the variety of excellent clinical placement options in Worcester are why I chose to enroll here. I want to help people through this extremely fulfilling profession.

Nursing 2023

Assumption’s nursing program provides students with the support and attention they need to succeed.

I want to become a nurse so I can help people when they need it most. I’ve seen nurses in action and appreciate the skills and compassion that they provide their patients. This combination of technical skills and compassion would allow me to truly impact another life.

I chose Assumption because I was interested in being part of the innovative new nursing program.

I loved the campus and wanted to be close to home. I enjoy helping people and want to be part of making lives better.
