Froelich School of Nursing

Preparing leaders in the delivery of safe and compassionate nursing practice. Learn to care for, serve, and promote the health of society within the principles of Catholic healthcare ethics.

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you into the Assumption Froelich School of Nursing (FSoN) community. You chose to pursue a profession that society consistently rates as the most honest and ethical – 18 years in a row! It is in this spirit of professionalism, compassion, and ethical integrity, that the Assumption SoN was developed.

The mission of the Froelich School of Nursing is to cultivate an intellectual community committed to preparing leaders in the delivery of safe, high-quality, and compassionate professional nursing practice. Graduates are prepared, in accordance with the principles of Catholic healthcare ethics, to care for, serve, and promote the health of society.

As a graduate of Assumption FSoN, you are prepared as a nurse generalist with clinical experiences across various specialties and with diverse patient populations. The curriculum is infused with and sustained by the traditional Catholic commitment to reverence for human life and the dignity of every human person. As a professional nurse, you will directly impact the health of individuals, families, and communities, focusing on the physical, social, psychological, and spiritual determinants that influence health outcomes.  A nurse educated at Assumption promotes human agency and advocates for those who cannot do so for themselves.

The FSoN expands on core values found across the Assumption campus to form graduates that are known for critical intelligence that supports the clinical judgment necessary to work in today’s dynamic healthcare system. You will be challenged throughout the nursing program; yet this challenge comes with accompanying support and encouragement to be the “best version of self.” This is a phrase that you will hear often in the FSoN; as you embark on the liberal arts education, take the opportunity to establish this “self” and let us assist you in achieving your goals and positively impact the health of the local and global society.
