The Mentor Collective Program

The Mentor Collective program enhances the student experience by linking them one-on-one with an alumni or peer mentor.

Students are paired with someone invested in their success — Mentor Collective logoa person ready to listen, inspire, help navigate challenges and recognize opportunities. Students will learn what to expect in university, how to approach challenges, gain career advice and valuable insights. At the same time, mentors will build their networks and develop skills to become better professionals and leaders.

How it Works

Students are matched with an alumni or peer mentor with shared interests, background, academics, and professional aspirations. To get started, students and mentors register and complete an online survey to assess personality and experience.

What do mentors and mentees discuss?

  • Meeting new people and making lifelong connections with peers, faculty, and staff
  • Getting involved on campus
  • Adjusting to university-level academic expectations
  • Developing a plan for academic, social, and career success
  • Balancing the demands of university with personal responsibilities and socializing
  • Exploring a major that’s appropriate for your particular interests, strengths, and goals
  • Developing and cultivating professional contacts
