Commuter Lounge

Connect with other commuters!

In our commuter lounge, located on the bottom floor of Alumni Hall, you can meet with others who are part of Assumption’s family of commuters. The lounge includes a kitchen and TVs for a dorm-like communal feeling.

Clubs & Activities

Become a part of one of over 60 on campus organizations!

This includes the commuter club, where you can meet up with other Assumption commuters. Student Government Association also sponsors a monthly commuter lunch in Taylor Dining Hall. Along with these opportunities, commuters are still able to participate in any and all on-campus activities, including joining intramural teams and taking fitness classes in the Plourde.

Commuters Connect Club

Commuters Connect Club is a great way for commuters to meet and connect with one another, as well as learn more about resources on campus. The General Members Meeting is held on Thursdays during the Common Hour. Contact Mike Rodier for more information!

Special Commuter Events

There are a number of special events for commuters throughout the academic year. Commuter Weekend offers commuters a chance to see what it is like living on campus for a weekend. During Family Weekend, a Commuter Family Hour takes place for parents, students, and members of the Assumption community to connect. Make sure you stay in touch for other fun events for commuters by interacting with the Commuters Collect Club and reading the Commuter Student eNewsletter that is sent out!

Commuter FAQs

Yes! Students are welcome to visit friends who reside in residence halls. Your friend will have to provide access to the building, as access is granted via ID card to those who live in residential buildings.
Yes! In fact, commuters are the only first-years who are allowed to have cars on campus. Students can receive a parking pass at the beginning of each academic year.
Commuters are welcome to park in any available student parking space.

No. However, you are still able to purchase one if you want to eat with your friends in Taylor or at Charlie’s!

Meal Plan Information
Yes! Commuters are able to participate in any and all on-campus activities, including intramurals and joining clubs/organizations. There’s even a club just for commuters!
