Assumption University follows a policy of billing students directly. Billing statements are delivered electronically through the Student Account Center, which is accessible via the student portal at https://my.assumption.edu.

Authorized Party: Students can grant access to others (such as parents or guardians) by adding them as an Authorized Party within the Student Account Center. Once an Authorized party is added, an email from Nelnet will be sent with instructions to create an online account. For assistance with the Student Account Center or Authorized Party access, please contact Nelnet at 800-609-8056.

Financial Aid: If you have applied for financial aid and received an award letter, the anticipated aid will appear as pending financial aid on your electronic bill in the Student Account Center under Transaction Details.

If you are obtaining a loan to pay your bill, you will need to be approved for the loan, complete the necessary promissory note, and, if required by the lender, have loan certification completed by the Financial Aid office. Once these steps are completed, the loan will be reported as anticipated financial aid on your electronic bill in the Student Account Center under Transaction Details. Please be aware that some loans have an origination fee withheld by the lender.

For questions concerning the loan process or the financial aid reflected on your bill, please contact the Office of Student Financial Services at 508-767-7158 or sfs@assumption.edu.

529 Plans: If you are using funds from a 529 plan to pay your bill, we strongly recommend that the plan owner transfer the funds electronically to their personal bank account and then make a one-time payment through the Student Account Center. This method provides clear documentation of the payment and helps avoid delays associated with mailing and processing paper checks.

Payment Plan: Assumption University offers a monthly payment plan administered by Nelnet, which allows families to spread education expenses over smaller monthly installments throughout the semester. Enrollment can be completed through the Student Account Center or an Authorized Party account. Click here to watch a video with detailed instructions.

Massachusetts State Health Insurance Law requires all full-time students to maintain minimal medical coverage and obligates universities to enforce this requirement. All students are billed for student medical insurance; however, students may waive this charge by demonstrating comparable medical coverage.

The link to enroll in or waive coverage will be available in the Student Account Center under “Other Services” once Fall 2026 billing statements are released. This process must be completed annually.

The student health insurance rate for the 2026–2027 academic year has not yet been determined. For reference, the 2025–2026 rate was $4,321.00.

Additional Charges: Some courses may have additional fees. For example, certain courses like graphic design, digital photography, education practicum, or natural science lab courses may carry additional charges that may vary depending on the specific course.

Books and Supplies: Please note that books and supplies cannot be charged to the student account and must be paid for at the time of purchase.
