Heather L. Briere, PhD, RN, FNP-BC, CCM

Heather L. Briere, PhD, FNP-BC, CCM, CNE, CNEcl is a family nurse practitioner and assistant professor or practice at Assumption University in Worcester, Massachusetts. She teaches across the nursing curriculum and in the Physician Assistant program, with a focus on pathophysiology, pharmacology, and medical–surgical nursing. Drawing on more than thirty years of clinical and academic experience, Dr. Briere emphasizes clinical judgment, evidence-based practice, and the integration of theory into real-world patient care. Her teaching philosophy is grounded in constructivist and Universal Design for Learning principles, promoting engagement, accessibility, and professional growth for all learners. 

Dr. Briere’s scholarly interests include educational innovation in nursing, technology-based learning, and approaches that prepare nurses to provide equitable care to marginalized and underserved populations. Her work reflects a commitment to developing compassionate, competent professionals who advocate for health equity and person-centered care in every setting.
