Courtney is a doctorly prepared nurse educator with a clinical focus on child bearing people, child health, and family support. Courtney is a content expert and has created testing items for the NCLEX-RN and is a member of the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board exam committee that oversees the Certified Pediatric Nursing certification (CPN). She has completed an academic leadership fellowship with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), and an editorial fellowship with the American Journal of Maternal Child Nursing. Courtney is a peer reviewer for the Canadian Journal of Nursing Research, the American Journal of Maternal Child Nursing, and the Online Journal of Nursing Workforce.
Courtney’s research area is professional identity development and reducing friction points for health care students as they transition to the workforce.
Education Background
Courtney completed her bachelors and master’s in nursing at Simmons University (Boston, MA), and her PhD at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell (Lowell, MA). Courtney is a certified nurse educator (CNE) and certified pediatric nurse (CPN).
