Shining Their Light
Education Program Specialist, UMass Medical School
After completing my first year elsewhere, I needed a smaller community that felt more like home.
At Assumption, everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming. Professors paid attention to students’ names - making me feel noticed and knowing that I mattered. It was truly the people at Assumption - students and professors alike - who empowered me to be my best self.
Business Tax Services Department, Deloitte & Touche Boston Office
At the Accounting Career Fair, I networked with several different companies - including Deloitte.
Because of Assumption, I have the understanding of the important accounting principles necessary to do the job, but I was also given the skills that go beyond the field of accounting which allowed me to distinguish myself from other applicants.
Human Services and Rehabilitation Studies 2016
Level 2 Teacher, New England Center for Children
From day one as a transfer student, I felt welcomed on campus.
My sophomore “pod mates” in a Worcester dorm became six of my best friends. Each professor made a point to get to know me too, by name and face, which really made me feel welcomed.
Human Services and Rehabilitation Studies 2018
Pursuing a Doctorate of Chiropractic, University of Bridgeport
I thrived at Assumption because I got involved and there are so many opportunities to do just that!
At my internship, I learned how to effectively interact with athletes from all backgrounds as well as various rehabilitation techniques and methods. I was successful because of Assumption being a very social community. I carried that social aspect over to my internship.
Sport Management 2018
Boston Red Sox Luxury Suites Management, Fenway Park
I was lucky enough to get my dream job before graduation due to hard work and help from Assumption.
Assumption has endless connections with people who help students succeed and start their careers. The community is a constant source of support and guidance. Assumption introduced me to alumni that gave me excellent advice and guidance about finding my perfect career.
Complex Systems Researcher, Assumption's Department of Biological and Physical Sciences
Assumption gave me the work ethic and communication skills needed for a wide variety of experiences.
I've given lectures in Massachusetts and at an international conference in Greece. These are achievements I couldn’t have reached without Assumption’s support and cultivation of these skills within me.
Graphic Design 2014
Graphic Design Contractor, MassDOT RMV
Assumption has been a defining experience in my life!
As a designer, it's important to have a well-rounded foundation to connect and work with various clients. Assumption's liberal arts curriculum helped me take a variety of classes and provided a base of knowledge that can be applied to any project I work on.
Principal, Sherwood Middle School
My experience at Assumption was transformative.
A wonderful community with a dedicated and supportive faculty who go above and beyond for students. My professors believed in me and motivated me to do my best. The strong personal connections I made is what gave me the confidence I needed to persevere and dream big.
