The Pre-dental program is the first step to pursuing a career in the field of dentistry. As a liberal arts university, Assumption offers students the knowledge necessary for entrance to and success in medical and/or dental school. Most students interested in pursuing a career in dentistry major in biology, however, it is possible to choose other majors and still prepare for such a career.
Designed for flexibility, Assumption’s program combines a major in Biology, Chemistry, or Health Sciences with the Concentration in Pre-Clinical Health Professions. This interdisciplinary concentration provides the student with the strong background in mathematics, science, and the social sciences necessary for successful graduate study in dentistry. Pre-dental students work closely with Professor Steven Theroux, Assumption’s Health Professions Coordinator to develop their course schedule in accordance with their professional ambitions and personal academic interests.
