Faculty and Staff Mentorship

Assumption is a community of caring and compassionate professionals who are committed to supporting your successful college journey.

A Dedicated Faculty Committed to Your Success

Assumption University is a dynamic community of scholars, citizens and compassionate stewards. We are professors, classmates, coaches and friends who will give you the guidance you need to take on the world and live a personally and professionally fulfilling life of meaning.

Our faculty brings our academic philosophy to life. You may find yourself exploring the importance of facial expressions with the psychology professor, analyzing Shakespeare's worldview with your political science professor or helping your biology professor track the effects of pollution on wetland areas. Our faculty love to teach and work hard to instill a lifelong passion for learning. They're at the forefront of new developments in their fields and frequently invite students to conduct important research alongside them.

The advising process starts during summer orientation where you will meet with one of our faculty who you'll be matched with based upon your academic interests and goals.  Assumption is committed to academic advising founded on a strong, individual relationship between advisor and advisee. All students are advised by informed, experienced, full-time teaching faculty committed to helping you chart your journey at each stage of your experience.

Outside of the classroom, you'll find a number of individuals who are also committed to your success:

  • The Career Development and Internship center will work with you from day one to help you plan for your future.
  • The Academic Support Center offers free, one-on-one tutoring and presents study-skills programs to help you develop strategies for personal academic success.
  • The Office of Student Life will provide you with a number of ways to get involved in campus life. (Did you know that Assumption has more than 50 clubs and organizations as well as club sports and intramural sports?)
  • The Wellness Center sponsors a student peer health education program and supports your growth and development as you meet the challenges and choices faced throughout your college years. (The staff provide confidential personal assessment, which is covered by the student's tuition.)
  • Student Accessibility Services supports the University's commitment to providing appropriate assistance to students with learning disabilities, ADHD/ADD, chronic medical conditions, physical disabilities, or psychiatric disabilities who can effectively function in our academic and residential environment

Those are just a few examples of the many individuals who work tirelessly each day to support your college journey.

We are all here to help you discover your passion and use that passion to make a meaningful difference in the world in which we live.
