Student Groups and Activities

From yearly traditions to new events there is always something going on at Assumption.

Assumption University: A Vibrant - and Fun - Campus Community!

The Office of Student Activities works closely with students, faculty and campus groups like the Campus Activities Board to organize, publicize and implement a wide variety of co-curricular activities ranging from lectures to performances to opportunities to have fun with your family.

And clubs! We have more than 60 student-run clubs and organizations that are sure to round out your studies!

The Campus Activities Board (CAB) is a student-run organization that plans social events for the student body at least four times a month. From the big Spring Concert and Spring Formal to carnivals, trivia, and big prize bingo - to name just a few - CAB’s goal is to make sure that students are having fun, all semester long! We're on Instagram. Your social life is waiting!

  • Family Weekend welcomes your family and friends back to campus. Scheduled during the fall semester, Family Weekend features an active carnival, evening programs, and plenty to do for family members of all ages.
  • Siblings Weekend is some serious fun for the family and friends of Assumption students. It takes place in the spring semester and provides activities for family and friends of all ages with inflatable bounce houses, various take home novelties, and evening programs that is sure to leave lasting memories.

Formal Events

  • Assumption students are invited to dress up for an evening of dinner and dancing, an event geared to juniors and seniors that have traditionally been held off campus.
  • Winter Bash is held at the end of the fall semester to celebrate the end of classes and beginning of finals.  It is a legendary experience.
  • Concerts
  • Each spring students are treated to a major concert. Past performers include: Gavin DeGraw; Third Eye Blind, Sarah Bareilles, Jay Sean, O.A.R., Phillip Phillips, Eric Palsay, Dan+Shay, Jesse McCartney and Kiiara.

Student Government Association

The Assumption University Student Government Association (SGA) is the governing student body that represents all full-time undergraduate students. The SGA works closely with students and administration to:

  • Voice the opinions and concerns of the student body.
  • Support students, organizations, and the greater campus community.
  • Provide an opportunity for all students to actively contribute to the academic and social climate of the campus.

First-year students have an opportunity to run for a position in SGA during the fall semester. Elections are held annually for upper-class students in the spring semester.
The SGA encourages the elected student representative to demonstrate excellence, honor and Greyhound pride.
