Intramural Sports

There’s a Sport for Everyone

The Department of Campus Recreation hosts Intramural Sports for the campus community throughout the year. There are a variety of team and individual events which allow students, faculty, staff, & administrators to create co-ed, men’s, and women’s teams and play according to their time preferences. Intramural Sport programs offer everyone an opportunity to not only enjoy a sport or special event, but also provides an opportunity for student engagement in a fun and spirited atmosphere while increasing your physical fitness. There are no prerequisites for experience, so all skill levels are encouraged to participate and compete to win the infamous Intramural Championship T-shirt!

5v5 Basketball (Men’s/ Women’s)
Split into three leagues (Men’s Competitive, Men’s Recreational and Women’s) you’ll play from the beginning of the semester up until Spring Break when three campus champions are crowned. In the middle of the season, we take a quick break for an all-star night!

Battleship (Co-ed)
You’ve played Battleship, but never like this! You and three of your friends board a canoe in our pool equipped with three buckets and a yoga mat. But wait: four of your opponents are equipped with the same as war is declared and teams try to seek each other’s canoe.

Beach Volleyball Tournament (Men’s/ Women’s)
As the semester winds down and the air really begins to give the hint of summer, compete in a volleyball tournament on our outdoor sand court.

Dodgeball Tournament
Assumption students who participate in the annual Dodgeball tournament rival the skills of an average Joe. Enjoy the skills of dodge, duck, dip and dive in this one-day tournament!

Flag Football (Men’s/ Women’s)
Calling all those who turned down that Division I scholarships to come to Assumption and play Intramural Flag Football! Leagues are split by gender and played on the Multi-Sport Stadium under the lights in the fall!

Floor Hockey
Hit the courts in the Remillard Field House for some good old floor hockey.  We supply goalie pads, sticks and balls – you supply the energy and excitement! Leagues are split by gender.

Indoor Soccer
Calling all MLS Stars! When the fall weather turns crisp we move indoors into the Plourde and onto the courts of the Remillard Field House to play indoor soccer.  This league is split by gender, but when we move outside in the spring, soccer is co-ed!

Kickball (Co-ed)
Grab those golden cleats and come down to the Duck Pond Field on weekday afternoons in the fall to re-live the glory days of gym class!

Lawn Games (Co-ed)
Calling all backyard cookout heroes! Amaze the Assumption community with your skills in KanJam, Cornhole and SpikeBall in a bracket-style tournament!

Ping-Pong (Co-ed)
Are you the neighborhood ping-pong champion? Maybe you like to play for fun? Each spring and fall, you can move from your basement or garage and compete in a fun ping-pong league.

Rec Day Relay
In honor of the annual National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association Rec Day on February 22, students form teams of 5 to compete in our decathlon!  Events include spinning, basketball skills challenge, soccer skills challenge, Frisbee accuracy, and freestyle swim!

Soccer (Co-ed)
As the weather warms, you’ll return to the Multi-Sport Stadium for our final league of the year. This time we combine both genders into one league to see who has the best skills and can outlast the rest of the league.

Soccer Billiards (Co-ed)
In this combination of two great sports, you can participate in the highly anticipated our one-day tournament held in the Plourde each year.  Walls and pockets are set up for the 15-colored soccer balls to be kicked into a pocket by the cue ball!

Softball (Co-ed)
Dust off those bats and gloves and come on down to show us that you can play centerfield!  In this league, your team pitches to itself and is set up for fun play amongst all genders. All games are played on Marois Field in the afternoons during the fall.

Volleyball (Men’s/ Co-ed)
Serve, set, spike, block! Get ready for outdoor volleyball by joining a club volleyball team and play in our co-ed league.  All games are played on the courts of the Remillard Field House.

Wallyball (Co-ed)
Calling all those volleyball stars and geometrically sound individuals as we play volleyball in our racquetball courts!  Use your teammates and the walls to volley the ball back and forth over the net!

Wiffle ball
Another sport for the veteran backyard heroes who call Assumption home. In this traditional version of Wiffle ball, there is no base running, only imaginary runners!  Research and practice all of those grips and step onto the mound and show us what you have!

Greyhound Intramural Championship

The Greyhound Intramural Championship was developed to encourage teams and individuals to participate in a variety of Intramural activities throughout the academic year. Teams that maintain the same team name throughout the year will accumulate points based on participation, performance and sportsmanship in each competition. At the conclusion of the year, the male and female team with the most points will have their teams’ name engraved on the Greyhound Intramural Championship Trophy and take home a personal gift.
