Assumption University Celebrates Black History Month

February is Black History Month, and the University is dedicated to honoring and celebrating Black history with a variety of events across campus throughout the month.
The pinnacle event celebrating this month will be the fourth annual Ecumenical Worship Service in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit on Wednesday, February 25, at 8:00 p.m. This annual service is co-hosted by the Cross-Cultural Center, Campus Ministry, and the Division for Student Success, and will feature readings, music, worship, and community for all. It will be led by Dr. Conway Campbell, vice president for student success and pastor emeritus at Grace Baptist Church.
In addition, the University will host an event in the Spring 2026 HumanArts series featuring Emmanuel Attah Poku on Thursday, February 26, at 7:00 p.m. Poku is a prominent master drummer from the Ashanti Region of Ghana, West Africa. He will present an exciting, interactive workshop on drumming in West African culture.
