Assumption’s Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity, one of only three programs in Massachusetts with a curriculum aligned with the National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security’s Centers of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense program, provides students with a technology-based education to prepare them for the ever-evolving field of cybersecurity. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, cybersecurity has a “faster than average” industry growth, the result of an exponential increase in cybercrime and cyber threats across the globe. As society depends more on technology, the more vulnerable our economy becomes. Assumption uses methods in computing and information science, engineering, social science, and technology management to ensure graduates are prepared to meet the demands of this important field and lead the development and security of the nation’s cyber ecosystem.  Assumption’s B.S. in cybersecurity can be earned either on campus and now online through CCE.

Assumption’s CCE program has educated adult learners for more than 40 years. Since its founding in 1979, the program has empowered those working part- or full-time earn a college degree —by offering flexible and affordable ways to grow academically, personally, and professionally. In response to the growing demands of the work and home lives of its students, CCE recently converted 100 percent of its classes to online and now offers an accelerated 7.5-week term to help students achieve more in a shorter period of time. The introduction of the cybersecurity program is one of the ways Assumption is working to develop new CCE offerings that meet marketplace demand and fill the needs of Massachusetts employers.
