Travel Tuesday: Mary Kate O’Shaughnessy ’20

Mary Kate O’Shaughnessy ’20 chose to study abroad at Maynooth University in Ireland as a way to connect with her Irish roots. “I’ve always wanted to visit Ireland and when I was presented with the opportunity to live there for my spring 2019 semester, I couldn’t say no!” Mary Kate wanted to be able to experience what her grandparents did when they grew up in Ireland and was even able to meet some of her family members for the first time. As a chemistry major, Mary Kate mentions Maynooth University was one of the few universities that offered labs and other classes relevant to her major. Mary Kate loves being able to meet people from all over the world, and shares “it’s been an absolutely incredible experience!”
