Following Introduction of New Veterans Programs and Services, Assumption Named a 2019-20 Military Friendly® School
Assumption College is one of the nation’s best institutions for Veterans and has been recognized as a 2019-20 Military Friendly® School. This designation sets the standard for higher education institutions to best serve veterans and their spouses.
Understanding the challenges many Veterans face in pursuing an undergraduate or advanced degree, Assumption offers customized academic counseling and support, a peer-to-peer Veteran mentoring program, programs to assist Veterans with post-graduate employment outcomes, and much more. The Veterans Success Committee ensures Veteran students have a voice on campus and a new Veterans Lounge provides a space on campus exclusively for Veterans to gather and support each other.
Beginning in May, the College’s Department of Human Services and Rehabilitation Studies will offer a post-bachelor's degree certificate program and a certificate of advanced graduate study for students whose goal is to provide services and support to service members, Veterans, and military families.

Cesareo, Ph.D., president of Assumption College. “In recognition of that sacrifice, Assumption has implemented a number of new programs to assist Veterans in applying to Assumption as well as to ensure their success while studying at the College. We are proud of this designation that recognizes the programs and services we offer to Veterans and will continue to introduce additional programs to serve our student-Veterans.”
According to Military Friendly ® Schools, the annual list is based on extensive research using public data sources for more than 8,800 schools nationwide, input from student veterans, and responses to the proprietary, data-driven Military Friendly® Schools survey from participating institutions. Assumption Welcomes High School Students to Campus as Part of Ernst & Young Sponsored Community Education Program
Not all students have the same opportunities when it comes to securing admission to and succeeding in college.
