Assumption Again Recognized as a Military Friendly School

Feb 12, 2020

For the second consecutive year, Assumption has been recognized as a Military Friendly® School for 2020-2021.  This designation signifies that Assumption exceeds the standards set for serving military and Veteran students and their spouses.

Recognizing the sacrifices that servicemen and servicewomen make for our country, Assumption ensures that service members and Veterans have opportunities that will help them succeed inside and outside of the classroom.  Designated a “Yellow Ribbon School” by the Veterans Administration, Assumption is committed to supporting Veterans from the application process through graduation, and beyond.

Because Assumption understands that Veterans and service members may face unique challenges on the path to obtaining their degrees, the University is committed to as seamless of a transition back into higher education as possible for these individuals. Assumption offers financial aid and other benefits that assist in their integration into college life.  Among these are a Veterans Success Committee, which was established to ensure that the voices of student Veterans are heard; a number of faculty who have been trained on how to best advise Veterans, service members, and their families; and a new Veterans Lounge that gives student Veterans a place on campus to build community and support each other.

The Military Friendly® School survey relies on public data, proprietary survey data received from institutions, as well as survey data from student Veterans themselves.
