Assumption Breaks Ground on New Health Sciences Building

Three years ago, Assumption celebrated the opening of the hub of academic life on campus, the Tsotsis Family Academic Building. In fall 2020, the institution opened a new, 41,000-square-foot Health Sciences building, where students will not just be prepared to treat an illness. At Assumption, we prepare students to treat a patient who happens to have an illness.

Health care professionals that graduate from Assumption are renowned for their empathy and those who understand and respect the dignity of the human person. They will believe and embrace the fact that they are treating not only a patient, but also their family.

The Health Sciences building houses the nursing program, but benefits students in all disciplines. The Health Sciences building is located next to the Emmanuel d'Alzon Library, across from the Hagan Campus Center.

Ground Broken on Health Sciences Building

Before a gathering of students, Trustees, faculty, and staff, Assumption broke ground on a new, 41,000-square-foot Health Sciences building that will welcome students in fall 2020.

“In this new building, we will not simply train future nurses and health care professionals to treat a disease or ailment,” said President Francesco C. Cesareo, Ph.D. “At Assumption, our unique programs will form individuals who will treat the human person with compassion.  Health care professionals that graduate from Assumption will be renowned for their empathy and those who understand and respect the dignity of the human person.”
