OPPORTUNITIES FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Assumption University offers three semesters of classes each year, many of which will be offered online for high school students enrolled in the Pre-College or Dual Enrollment Programs. Special events will be held on campus to introduce high school students to campus life and the services provided to students. These include the Academic Support Center, Career Development and Internship Center, and other services to support students’ immersion in Catholic liberal education.
High school and university students will find the summer semester of particular interest. Summer courses invite eligible high school students to complete a semester-long course in six weeks, with an opportunity to concentrate on the subject with fewer distractions. Classes are offered in business, English, mathematics, psychology, theology and more. Through the dedicated commitment of exemplary faculty, students receive a high-quality, personalized experience for summer students. The courses offered during the summer are the same versions as their fall or spring semester counterparts, taught by the same professors, and provide the same level of intellectual rigor.
Founded in the Catholic intellectual tradition, Assumption University’s classic liberal arts curriculum inspires students to explore the relationship between faith and reason and encourages the growth of mind, body, and spirit in an inclusive, open climate. Our students join generations of scientists, artists, writers, and philosophers who have engaged—across disciplines—in a search for truth.

Assumption University has developed partnerships with universities that enable our students to receive undergraduate course credits, then pursue highly regarded graduate programs. These partnerships offer our students numerous opportunities for guaranteed admission, accelerated degrees, or intensive study.
Assumption’s partnerships are part of the University’s commitment to affordable education while also opening doors to more career pathways. Through academic partnerships with affiliated colleges and universities, Assumption students have the opportunity to earn degrees in specialized topics or areas Assumption may not offer. A handful of these agreements provide guaranteed scholarship money and preferred admission, too. These academic partnerships also give students access to more majors. In addition to engineering, Assumption offers articulation agreements with other universities leading to dual degrees, professional degrees, or graduate degrees in fields as wide- ranging as chiropractic medicine, law, engineering, marine science, and biotechnology. For instance, Assumption is one of 35 institutions that participate in Duke University’s Marine Science Education Consortium, and Assumption students are eligible to study at Duke’s state-of-the-art Marine Laboratory in Beaufort, NC.

“Not only are the professors extraordinary, but the knowledge I gained surpassed my expectations. I credit the success I had at my internship to Assumption. Because of the small classrooms and faculty-to-student ratio, students truly get to know their professors and develop relationships that lead to opportunities for mentorship, research, and collaboration.”
