Dr. Stephanie Joy Bouley, Ph.D. is a visiting assistant professor at Assumption University, where she combines her expertise in genetics, cancer biology, and molecular and cellular biology with a passion for education. She is committed to mentoring undergraduate students, integrating research into the classroom, and fostering discussions on the ethics of medical research. Previously, Professor Bouley was a Research Fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital, working under the mentorship of Dr. James Walker. With over a decade of experience in Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1) research, she plans to continue her dedication to identifying novel therapeutic strategies for NF1-deficient tumors through undergraduate research. Professor Bouley strives to advance scientific discovery while inspiring the next generation of biomedical researchers.
Education Background
Professor Bouley is a graduate of Assumption College (now University), where she double majored in Biotechnology/Molecular Biology and Chemistry and graduated with honors and a Bachelor of Arts degree. After graduating, Professor Bouley completed a Fulbright fellowship in Tübingen, Germany before heading to Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH to earn her Ph.D in Experimental and Molecular Medicine.
