Jennifer Dealy, Ph.D.

Professor of Practice

Dr. Jennifer Dealy is an alumna of Assumption University and a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with systemic training. She holds a Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Connecticut, where she specialized in both Marriage and Family Therapy and Health, Wellbeing, and Prevention.

Dr. Dealy’s research centers on maternal mental health and community-based interventions that foster healthy parent-child relationships. Outside of academia, she has led evaluations of school-based afterschool programs for the state of Connecticut and co-developed a court-mandated parenting program designed to support divorcing and separating parents. She also serves as a parenting coach and delivers webinars through Peace at Home Parenting.

Clinically, Dr. Dealy specializes in working with high-conflict co-parents and couples.  She has worked in outpatient and partial hospital programs. She is excited to return to Assumption University, where she will teach graduate-level courses in psychopathology, counseling skills, couples therapy, and family therapy.
