Originally from New York City, Barbara moved to Worcester, MA in 1998, working simultaneously in business and the arts. As an Executive Recruitment professional, she has worked for Fortune 500 companies as well as non-profit organizations, both globally and locally. In academia, Barbara has taught and facilitated for Cornell, UMass Chan Medical School, Fitchburg State University, Anna Maria College and Clark University. Barbara is currently Managing Director of 4th Wall Stage Company, one of the founders of The Mint Theater Company in NYC and is a long-standing member of Actors’ Equity Association and Screen Actors Guild/American Federation of Television & Radio Artists, with 40 years of experience in the Performing Arts arena as an actor, director, casting director and producer. She also works with national and independent filmmakers on feature-length, shorts, documentaries and other types of media. Barbara is fully-committed to the cultural landscape of Worcester, serving on the boards and committees of museums, educational, and arts organizations, such as: NPR affiliate WICN Jazz Radio, Museum of Worcester (recently served as interim COO), Ecotarium, Junior League of Worcester, Worcester Women’s History Project ( both the 100th Anniversary of the Right to Vote and spearheaded the 175th Anniversary of the First National Women’s Rights Convention), and Major Taylor Association and Documentary Film. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts from Rutgers University, and an MBA in Human Resources Management from Fitchburg State, Executive Education Certificate from Wharton, and has studied her craft in London, New York, and on the West Coast.
