Women’s Basketball Coach Kerry Phayre Reaches Milestone 500th Career Win
Head women’s basketball coach Kerry Phayre led the team to a win last Saturday, December 13—but it wasn’t just an ordinary victory.
The team’s 80-67 win over Southern New Hampshire University was Phayre’s 500th win as head coach. This statistic adds to her already impressive resume, as the winningest coach in Assumption men’s or women’s basketball history and the overall winningest coach in Assumption history.
The 2025-26 season is Phayre’s 29th season as women’s head basketball coach. In her 29 seasons, she has seen 25 postseason appearances, with seven NCAA tournament appearances. She was inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006.
