The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) recently announced that Assumption’s Class of 2025 (4-year BSN) nursing students posted a 100% passing rate for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN®)—far exceeding the first-time national average of 87.1%. With the 2025 passing rate, Assumption’s nursing program has a 97.8% 3-year aggregate pass rate for the NCLEX-RN®.

“The NCLEX® is an individual exam, but this perfect passing rate is a collective accomplishment,” said Jennifer Morton, dean of the Froelich School of Nursing. “It represents the strength of our program and the strength of this group of graduates. These graduates spent countless hours studying together, serving in clinical rotations together, and thriving together as the future nurses that our communities so desperately need. We couldn’t be more proud of our Class of 2025 for this impressive accomplishment, and perhaps more importantly, for the excellence they are already exemplifying in health care settings each day.”

The NCLEX-RN® is a standardized exam that all registered nurse candidates must take and pass to become licensed registered nurses. The exam determines whether a candidate is prepared to practice professional nursing through a series of questions on various nursing competencies, including patient care management.

Reflecting Assumption’s strong NCLEX-RN® passing rates, the University’s nursing program was ranked by RegisteredNursing.org—a leading online resource for nurses and students considering nursing school—as the best in Massachusetts in 2025.
