Assumption Named Silver Military Friendly® School for 2025-2026

For the fifth year in a row, Military Friendly® has named Assumption University to its list of military friendly colleges and universities.
Military Friendly® schools are chosen based on public data and surveys filled out by institutions. The Military Friendly Advisory Council of independent leaders in higher education, along with Viqtory, then assess the information and award rankings based on retention, graduation rates, job placement, repayment, persistence, and loan default rates for veterans.
Being included in this list for a fifth year in a row demonstrates Assumption’s ongoing dedication to veterans through various programs, specialized support, academic assistance, and events that honor their service. The University has been named a silver military friendly school in its category for the 2025-26 rankings.
“This designation reflects our unwavering commitment to supporting our student veterans in their academic and personal journeys. We strive to create an environment where veterans feel valued and empowered, providing them with the resources and community they need to succeed,” said Gary Senecal, associate professor of human services and chair of the Veterans Success Committee. “We are proud to celebrate their service and contributions, and we will continue to enhance our support for these remarkable individuals.”
Assumption supports veterans in several ways, including with the important work done by the Veterans Success Committee to help ensure veterans receive access to quality higher education; the offering of a specific lounge for student veterans to form connections; a graduate program that empowers civilians and those who are military-connected to better meet the needs of those who have served; an annual program on Veterans Day to honor those who have served; and a partnership with the Worcester Institute for Senior Education, offering educational opportunities to older veterans.
