Applications Open for Assumption’s First Class of Physician Assistant Students

Assumption University has announced that its newly-formed Physician Assistant Program has begun accepting applications for its inaugural class. The program will continue accepting applications through November 1.  The first cohort of students is anticipated to begin in January 2025 and graduate in April 2027.

“We’re thrilled to announce the opening of applications for Assumption’s new PA Program,” said Christopher Ferreira, PA-C, Director of the Physician Assistant Studies program. “The 28-month PA Program will prepare our graduates to enter the healthcare field with the education and skills required to provide compassionate and highly competent care to every patient they serve.  We look forward to welcoming the next generation of future healthcare leaders to 500 Salisbury Street.”

The 28-month program will include 12 months of didactic instructional coursework and 16 months of hands-on clinical rotations. During their time at the University, Assumption PA students will have access to state-of-the-art facilities, talented and dedicated faculty members, and a comprehensive curriculum that will ensure Assumption PAs will be able to give patients the best care possible.

The program is not utilizing the Central Application Service for Physician Assistants (CASPA) this cycle; instead, there is a direct application through the Assumption University website, which will simplify the process and provide applicants with a direct connection to the University. The online application for Assumption’s PA program is available here. There is no application fee.

All admission-related and other program information, including all admission requirements and ARC-PA accreditation status, will remain published on the Assumption PA program website: https://www.assumption.edu/graduate/physician-assistant-studies.
