1971
Dr. Michael Pregot G’71 has announced the release of his latest book, Slavery and Abolitionism on Cape Cod, published by Sudbury Press. The book is a follow-up to his first maritime book, Sea Captains of Cape Cod. Now retired, Dr. Pregot was a longtime educator and school leader. He says he enjoys delving into the historic events that contributed to the richness of the Cape Cod experience.
1975
Roger Dumas has been promoted to instructor in the Porsche Club of America’s High Performance Driver Education program. Roger is teaching drivers (novice and advanced) how to get the most from their cars on racetracks around New England.
1988
Carmen Rosado G’88, a longtime Worcester educator, was celebrated as a 2024 Commonwealth Heroine at a State House ceremony in June. Currently a family and community engagement specialist at the Latino Education Center at Worcester State University, Carmen was nominated for the honor by one of her former Worcester Public Schools students, Mass. State Rep. David LeBoeuf. Rep. LeBoeuf has praised her advocacy for social justice, her leadership in the community, and mentorship of others in her field. Read More
1994
Suzanne Klinger Viens completed the 2024 Tokyo Marathon and earned her sixth star to become an Abbott World Marathon Major Six Star Finisher. In addition to the Tokyo Marathon, Suzanne has run the 2019 Boston Marathon, the 2019 Chicago Marathon, the 2022 NYC Marathon, the 2023 London Marathon, and the 2023 Berlin Marathon. She lives in Massachusetts with her husband, alumnus Andy Viens.
1991
Juan Gomez retired after last month as president and CEO of the Worcester-based multicultural health and human services nonprofit CENTRO. Juan, who led the organization for nearly two decades, played an integral role in expanding the provider’s reach from servicing four Worcester zip codes to serving more than 8,700 individuals annually throughout 52 Massachusetts cities and towns. Although retired, he will continue working within the nonprofit as the president and CEO of the New Americans Community Development Corp., a CENTRO initiative working to create and expand economic opportunities for the residents of Worcester’s Main Middle neighborhood while preserving and developing affordable housing. Melissa Monahan is FundGuard’s new U.S. Talent Acquisition and HR Business partner, bringing more than 15 years of talent acquisition and human resources experience to the team. Prior to joining FundGuard, she was part of the human resources team at Charles River Development, a State Street Company, where she developed and implemented global recruitment and HR projects. A volunteer for the Alzheimer’s Association, Melissa says she also enjoys running, hiking, and spending time with her family. Read More

Eliza Cassella was named assistant principal at Collins Middle School in Salem, MA. She previously served the Salem Public Schools system as its director of Social and Emotional Learning, Culture and Climate. Eliza, who earned postgraduate degrees at UMass-Boston and Harvard University, serves part-time as an adjunct professor at Assumption. Read More
2023
Lily Daly has joined the Regis Pride field hockey program as an assistant coach after a stellar playing career at Assumption. Lily was a standout student-athlete at Assumption helping the Greyhound Field Hockey Team win the Northeast-10 Conference championship in 2021 and advance to the NCAA Division II national semifinals three times (2021, 2022, and 2023). Before starting at Regis, she spent the 2024 spring semester as an educational assistant at Ahern Middle School in Foxborough, MA. Read More
