Class Notes

1990

Tom McAuliffe continues to be recognized as a leader in local broadcasting. Under his leadership, MyFM Media 101.3 earned five honors at the Massachusetts Broadcasters Association SoundBites Awards, including the Merit Award for Radio Station of the Year—marking the 14th time the station has received this top distinction.

1999

Karen Mirabile was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of Worcester-based Open Sky Community Services. Karen serves as Director of Program Marketing at Assumption University.

2001

Kyle Egress, Jon Pickard, Kyle Gibbons, Jeff Rawson, and Tim Monahan recently reunited at a UConn football game.

2011

Richard Esposito, Jr. was elected Town Councilman for District 4 in East Haven, Connecticut, in the November election. Rich also serves as a Leadership Gift Officer at Assumption University.

2015

Jacob Dowgewicz was recently appointed organist at St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Hartford, Connecticut. An Organ Scholar and Business major during his time at Assumption, Jacob also works with Austin Organ Co. in Hartford in its sales department.

2019

Karissa (Foley) Schmid earned her Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree from Bay Path University in 2025. Her doctoral research examined the relationship between burnout and career commitment among occupational therapy practitioners in skilled nursing facilities. She is currently employed at North Adams Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Charlotte, NC Meetup

Jason Goguen ’96, Brian Flanagan ’90, Dave Hoeske ’90, Scott Echols, Melanie Demarais HA ’92, Mike Herard ’00, Andrea Labas Flynn ’95, and Pauline Smith Echols ’82 gathered with fellow Greyhounds at the Assumption alumni meetup in Charlotte, North Carolina, in December.

Assumption alumni connected through St. George Church in Worcester, Massachusetts, recently gathered at an annual Christmas party.
