Assumption University follows a policy of billing the students directly. Students receive their billing statements electronically through their Student Account Center within student portal at https://myportal.assumption.edu.
Students can grant others access to their student account using the add Authorize party button within Student Account Center in the student portal. Once your student has added you as an Authorized party an email will be sent to the authorized person from Nelnet with instructions to create their online account. If you have questions pertaining to student account center or the Authorized party invite, please call 800-609-8056.
Financial Aid: If you have applied for financial aid and received a financial aid award letter, the amount of financial aid should be reported as pending/anticipated financial aid on your electronic bill and within student account center under transaction details.
If you are obtaining a loan to pay your bill, you will need to be approved for the loan; complete the necessary promissory note; and if required by the lender, have loan certification completed by the Financial Aid office. Once these steps are completed, the loan will be reported as pending/anticipated financial aid on the bill and within student account center under transaction details. Please be aware that some loans have an origination fee withheld by the lender.
If you have questions concerning the loan process or the financial aid reflected on your bill, please contact the Financial Aid office at 508-767-7158 or fa@assumption.edu.
529 Plans: If you are using funds from a 529 account as payment toward your bill, we highly recommend that the owner of the 529 plan have the funds electronically transferred to their own bank account and then make a one-time payment through the student account center. This will allow you to have documentation that the funds disbursed to the student account, as well as save on the time delay in receiving and processing a paper check.
Payment Plan: Assumption University offers a monthly payment plan administered by Nelnet, allowing you to spread your education expenses over smaller monthly installments throughout the semester. Enrollment in the payment plan is simple and can be completed through the Student Account Center in the student portal or via your Authorized Party online account.

Massachusetts State Health Insurance Law requires that all full-time students have minimal medical coverage and have placed an obligation on universities, to enforce this regulation. All students are billed for this coverage but may be able to waive the charge if they can prove comparable medical coverage. The insurance web site link to waive or enroll in the medical coverage can be found in the Nelnet student account center and will also be posted on the student account web page once the fall 2025 billing statement is available. This process must be completed each year. The student medical insurance rate for 2025/2026 is $4,321.
Additional charges. Some courses may have additional fees. For example, certain courses like graphic design, digital photography, education practicum, or natural science lab courses may carry additional charges that may vary depending on the specific course.
Books and Supplies: Please note that books and supplies cannot be charged to the student account. You will need to pay at the time of purchase.
