Hound of the Week: Mackenzie Leonard ’21
Congratulations to our next Hound of the Week, Mackenzie Leonard ‘21! A human services and rehabilitation major with a concentration in communication sciences disorders, Mackenzie has always been interested in an education at Assumption due to its close proximity to home and the beautiful campus. Mackenzie is heavily involved on campus as president and founder of the Commuters Club and a SIBS Ambassador. She is also a member of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls. “It is important for me to involved on and off-campus because I love having an impact on my community. Whether it be making people feel like they belong, like I did with the commuters club, or cleaning up my local neighborhood. I am always trying to make the people around me have a better life.” Mackenzie is also extremely passionate about equal rights and recognition. As a founder of the commuters club, Mackenzie wanted to give commuter students (about 300 on Assumption’s campus) a chance to have a larger voice. “Assumption helped me realize my love for helping people and the opportunity to have a career in it which helped me start my journey into Speech Language Pathology.”
