Assumption University is launching a new program to help high school seniors whose college search has been delayed or interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The virtual Instant Decision Days offer high school seniors the opportunity to meet virtually with an admissions counselor and receive an admission and merit scholarship decision, on the spot.

“Assumption understands that many high school seniors are struggling just to get through the year due to remote and hybrid learning caused by COVID-19,” said Robert Mirabile, Ph.D., Vice President for Enrollment Management. “Many seniors have not been able to commit the time they normally would have to the college search process, and there are some who have not begun the process at all. These virtual Instant Decision Days provide high school seniors an opportunity to catch-up in the college search process and plan for their future.”

Assumption is also offering a number of financial aid webinars, as well as individual appointments with financial aid advisors to assist families in the completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form, another area where students are struggling due to limited resources during the pandemic.

“Despite the challenges of the past year, there has never been a better time to attend Assumption. A new University designation, restructuring into five Schools, two new state-of-the-art academic buildings, innovative programs including dual and accelerated degree options, exciting partnerships – these are just a few of the ways that Assumption is continuing to evolve and grow to ensure that our students have the best possible academic experience,” added Mirabile.

Assumption University, founded in 1904 by the Augustinians of the Assumption, is New England’s premier university for high-quality education, integrating career preparation and education of the whole person, drawing upon the best in the rich and centuries-long tradition of Catholic higher education.
