Jun 12, 2019

Congratulations to our next Hound o the Week, Rebecca Hobin ’21! A Spanish major with a concentration in communication sciences and disorders, Rebecca is proudly involved on campus and is currently President of the class of 2021 and has been for the past two years. In addition to serving with SGA, Rebecca is also a Spanish tutor in the Academic Support Center, a member of the National Spanish Honors Society, a member of the SOPHIA program, a residential assistant, and an orientation leader. Rebecca also has a passion for music as she is a member of the Assumption Chorale and VOCE ensembles on campus, and off-campus, volunteers at her local parish where she sings at mass. “It is important for me to be involved on and off campus because it is my hope that my gifts meet the needs of my community. I love being a part of things that broaden my horizons, teach me new things, and help enrich my relationships which are of the utmost importance to me.” Rebecca is passionate about her faith, learning, and people. Her greatest joys come from connecting with those around her. “ At Assumption, I am able to connect with people I know and love every day not only in the classroom but in SGA, in my work as a tutor, and even in the SOPHIA program. The various opportunities granted to me at Assumption have allowed me to open my heart and mind to people who have made a tremendous impact on me.”

Rebecca thanks Assumption for positively impacting her life and helping her grow into a kind, confident, and faithful young leader. “I have learned to embrace endless opportunities and challenges that continue to strengthen my spiritual, personal, and academic growth. The professionals and students on Assumption’s campus have become family to me and I wouldn’t trade my experience here for anything!”
