Assumption to Break Ground on New Health Sciences Building
Second New Academic Building in Three Years on Worcester Campus.

WHAT: Three years ago, Assumption broke ground for its premier academic facility, the Tsotsis Family Academic Center. On Friday, the College will launch another ambitious project, the construction of a new health sciences building that will house the College’s Froelich School of Nursing and School of Health Professions. The building is scheduled to open in fall 2020.

DETAILS: Assumption recently received approval from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing to begin offering a bachelor’s of science in nursing. Assumption will also offer a master of science in physician assistant studies. 

The three-story building will include a number of state-of-the-art teaching facilities equipped with the latest training tools for future nurses and physician assistants. Classrooms have been designed for active learning and the clinical learning environment is designed to replicate hospital rooms, laboring rooms, and primary care exam rooms. The new building will also house a number of conference rooms and study spaces.

The interdisciplinary education opportunities that will be available in the health sciences building will benefit not only the Froelich School of Nursing and School of Health Professions, but several other departments and majors across the campus.
