Assumption Coronavirus Financial Aid Relief Fund
The Assumption University Board of Trustees have authorized the creation of a $3 million fund to assist current students and incoming members of the Class of 2024 whose families are facing financial hardship as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. This Fund demonstrates our commitment to provide additional financial resources for students, including members of the incoming Class of 2024, to pursue and achieve an undergraduate degree from Assumption regardless of financial challenges during this unpredictable time.
Resources from this special fund will increase the Assumption financial aid of eligible students with a demonstrated need for the 2020-21 academic year as follows:
- New need-based room grants of up to $8,500
- New need-based tuition grants of up to $10,000
Applications for increased financial aid will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and one-year allocations will be awarded following a thorough review of the impact of the coronavirus on families’ finances.

Current Assumption Students:
Our dedicated financial aid staff is happy to assist families whose financial situation has changed significantly. The Trustees and the entire Assumption community are committed to providing students the opportunity to begin, or to continue, their pursuit of a degree from Assumption.
Admitted and Deposited Students for the incoming Fall 2020 class:
If you have been admitted to Assumption for the incoming fall 2020 class and have been affected financially by the pandemic, please submit this form to apply for assistance from the Assumption Coronavirus Financial Aid Relief Fund. Students who have already deposited as well as those who have been admitted, but have not yet deposited, are eligible to apply for consideration of a one-year increase in financial aid.
As a reminder, we have extended our deposit deadline to June 1 (from May 1), to provide additional time to make your enrollment decision. In recognition that some other schools have not taken this step, we will begin reviewing coronavirus relief requests – and offering awards – on Monday, April 20. In addition, we will accept eligibility requests throughout the 2020-21 Academic Year, knowing that the financial impact may yet be felt by some families.
Students Wanting to Apply to Assumption for the incoming Fall 2020 class:
We understand that the pandemic has caused a lot of uncertainty for families, including decisions relative to the university you planned to attend this fall. If your situation has changed and you are now interested in applying to Assumption to explore financial assistance for which you might be eligible, please complete the following steps:
- Add Assumption to your Common Application and submit your application as soon as possible
- Submit your FAFSA with Assumption’s school code 002118
- Submit the Coronavirus Relief Aid Application
We have extended our deposit deadline to June 1 (from May 1), to help give students adequate time and information to make their enrollment decision. In recognition that some other schools have not taken this step, we will provide an admission decision and financial aid package within one week of receiving a completed admission and financial aid application as well as a completed Coronavirus Relief Aid Application.
