Travis Gagen is an Assistant Professor in the Health Science program at Assumption College and serves as a program developer and instructor for the graduate-level Public Health Aging Certificate Program at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Travis is a mixed-methods researcher with a specialization in health care systems, aging policy, and public health. His research focuses on home-and community-based aging policy, including reforms of the Center for Medicare & Medicaid, as well as mechanisms to strengthen the local public health service delivery of health promotion services to community-dwelling older adults and smart home technologies that can assist older adults in maintaining independence to avoid institutional long-term care. Travis has experience in international and community-based public health partnerships with a track-record of initiating and overseeing multiple community-based programs in developing nations and domestic United States.
