U.S. News & World Report Recognizes Assumption’s Excellence and Value in 2019 Best Colleges Rankings

Assumption College has once again been recognized as a top institution of higher learning by U.S. News & World Report in the recently released 2019 Best Colleges rankings. Assumption was ranked in multiple categories: among the top 30 best colleges and universities in the North region; a Best Value School; and a top 25 college for Best Undergraduate Teaching.

According to U.S. News & World Report, the rankings for best regional colleges and universities evaluate institutions on “16 measures of academic quality” and allow students to “compare at a glance the relative quality of U.S. institutions based on such widely accepted indicators of excellence as first-year student retention, graduation rates and the strength of the faculty.” To earn a spot as a Best Undergraduate Teaching institution, schools must be a place “where faculty and administrators are committed to teaching undergraduate students in a high-quality manner.”

In August, The Princeton Review recognized Assumption as one of the Best 384 Colleges, in which the “outstanding faculty and supportive staff” earned high praise. In the guide, students surveyed applauded Assumption for the caring, “approachable,” and “engaging” professors, as well as the College’s dedication to students’ success.

The Assumption College curriculum enables students to gain a depth and breadth of knowledge that leads to professional success and personal fulfillment. Students—whether studying on the Worcester, Massachusetts or Rome, Italy campus—become engaged participants in Assumption’s classic liberal arts education and professional programs, exploring new ideas, making connections across disciplines, and pushing themselves to achieve more than they ever thought possible. To prepare for the workforce, students learn cutting-edge theory and best practices and take advantage of internships locally, nationally and internationally, providing them with learning experiences where they can apply the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom.
