Two to tango: Neuropeptide-Neuropeptide receptors in social behaviors
Jagan Srinivasan, Ph.D. (aka Dr. J), is an associate professor of biology and biotechnology at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Dr. J’s Systems Neuroscience Laboratory focuses on interpreting olfactory dysfunction in neurological disorders, in particular Alzheimer’s Disease – by understanding how olfaction is encoded in the brain. Using a multi-disciplinary approach, the lab seeks to address the mechanisms underlying olfactory function by observing the neural circuits, genetic, and molecular pathways mediating chemically mediated social behaviors in the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans.
The lecture is part of the University’s Neuroscience Lecture Series. For more information, contact Prof. Leamarie Gordon at lt.gordon@assumption.edu.
