Research shows that the experiences of trauma and adversity are becoming increasingly prevalent in the lives of students. Trauma and adversity often cause a ripple effect for student in schools -impacting their academic ability, self-regulation, and interactions with others. It is vital that teachers, school counselors, school nurses, administrators, and other school professionals feel equipped with the tools to identify trauma in their students, provide appropriate levels of support, and know what community resources are available to students and their families. This engaging workshop will provide participants with an in-depth understanding about how trauma impacts the lives of students, and will offer practical strategies that can be used in the school setting. This workshop will also explore Evidence Based Trauma treatments and community resources that can facilitate the healing process for youth.
