Class of '73 - 50th Reunion

Dear Class of 1973,

It feels like yesterday. The class of 1973 made history at Assumption as the first coeducational class, and during our four years the culture and politics of America were changing before our eyes. Some of us marched for peace. Some read poetry and played guitar in the coffee house. Some frequented Zip’s snack bar, drinking gallons of coffee and listening to songs like Crosby Stills and Nash’s Suite: Judy Blue Eyes repeating over and over. Most of us packed the gym as the Hounds defeated nearly all challengers. And the memories keep coming—of Bro Robert, of late-night Sunday Mass in the chapel, of friendships, of midnight pizza deliveries, of laughter and, yes, tears.

Fifty years—the time has melted away. Some of us have attended many class reunions, others very few, and some have never returned. We encourage you to save the dates of June 2-4 to return again—or at least once—to Assumption. Reunion is a great time to discover one another again, and to realize the incredible contributions that our classmates have made in all walks of life.

The Class of 1973 was—and is—special. We’re planning to leave our legacy by contributing to a $100,000 endowed scholarship fund named for us. Our fund will help students who really need it for generations to come. It will be our way of ensuring that the Class of 1973 is never forgotten. We hope that you will consider participating! Your dedicated committee members will be in touch soon.

So…Come! Give! You won’t be disappointed!   PS: The 50th Reunion dinner is on Friday, June 2nd!!!
