The Federal Perkins loan is a campus-based Title IV federal student aid program, enabling eligible students to obtain a low-interest loan. The U.S. Department of Education governs the program. This is a loan and must be repaid.
First time Perkins Loan borrowers must complete and return to Assumption College, a Master Promissory Note and Entrance Counseling form, which will be mailed to them in July. Funds cannot be disbursed to your student account until both completed and signed documents are returned to the College. The return address is:
500 Salisbury Street
Worcester, MA 01609
ATTN: Lisa Johnson
Online exit interviews must be completed when a student graduates or drops below half time.
Assumption College has contracted with USA, University Accounting Service LLC, to administer the billing of this loan program. In addition to online exit interview and billing statements, UAS also provides information on deferment and cancellation benefits, forbearance arrangements and letter of credit verifications. UAS can be reached at: 1-800-999-6227 or at www.uaservice.com.
Repayment of a Perkins loan begins 9 months after a student graduates or drops below half time status. Late payments and delinquencies are reported to the Credit Bureau, so it is important to your credit history to stay current with your loan obligations.
