DESCRIPTION:The Assumption University HumanArts series presents internationally acclaimed Mexican classical guitarist Zaira Meneses and her Son Jarocho ensemble. Since 2018\, Meneses has been the first female classical guitarist to advocate for the rich traditions of Son Jarocho\, blending its dynamic rhythms with her classical guitar mastery. Supported by a grant from The Boston Foundation\, she has been pivotal in promoting this vibrant style of Mexican music\, which includes dance\, singing\, and the unique playing of the Jarana and Requinto.
