Assumption seeks to enroll an intellectually talented and diverse student body and therefore welcomes first-year and transfer applications from all interested students – U.S. citizens or non-U.S. citizens, living domestically or abroad, including undocumented students and students granted Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status.
If you are an undocumented or DACA student, you should follow the same process for first year or transfer students. Assumption will evaluate your application, regardless of your citizenship status or non-status, within the most accurate context. We encourage you to share relevant information about your unique circumstances with us. DACA students would qualify for merit scholarships only, since they will not be eligible for state aid or federal aid.
We require all applicants whose first language is not English to adequately demonstrate English competency as a part of the application process. Students may demonstrate competency by submitting scores from the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), IELTS (International English Language Testing System), iTEP (International Test of English Proficiency) or Pearson.
Recommended minimum scores:
TOEFL - 80 (iBT), 213 (cBT), 550 (pBT) or higher. Assumption's TOEFL code is 3009.
IELTS - 6.5 or higher
Pearson - 53 or higher
iTEP - 3.7 or higher
