Introduction

The statistical applets listed at the left are written in Java 1.0 and may be run with a compatible browser such as Netscape Navigator 3.0 or Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0.  If you do not already have one, a browser may be downloaded free of charge by clicking on the Netscape or Microsoft symbols at the bottom of this page.
From the menu at the left select:

• Random Assignment for a list of random subject assignments to experimental groups.
• Random Assignment with Blocks for a list of random subject assignments to experimental groups done within blocks of subjects.
• Simple Random Sample for a list of n randomly selected subjects from a population of size N.
• Descriptive Statistics for the mean, sum of squares, variance, standard deviation, and the five number summary computed from scores you input.
• t test: Independent Groups for the results of this statistical test computed from subjects’ scores or the means and standard deviations.
• t test: One Sample for the results of this test computed from repeated measures or matched scores.
• 2X2 Analysis of Variance for the statistical tests for a 2 X 2 factorial design.
