Instructions for Presenters

General Instructions:

1. Please check the schedule and note your presentation or poster session time. It is important that you are present 15 minutes prior to the start of your session, not 15' before the scheduled start of your presentation.

2. Business attire (dress professionally) is requested for the Symposium.

3. All participants are strongly encouraged to attend as many sessions as possible. All student participants are excused from their classes (assigned work must be made up at the discretion of the faculty member) on the day of the Symposium

Oral presentation instructions:

1. Each presenter is allotted 15 minutes for a presentation with 2-5 minutes for questions. You MUST adhere to time limit.

2.Please bring your Powerpoint presentations on a flashdrive or CD to the Symposium. You will NOT be able to hook up your own computer.

3. Please consult with Pr. Crowley about particular technology needs. It is critical that all oral presenters are present at least 15' prior to the session in which you are presenting. The organizers need this time to load your presentation to the computer.

4. The planning committee strongly recommends that each student work with their faculty mentor(s) in preparing their presentation. Bear in mind that the Symposium is College-wide and presentations must be geared to a general audience.

Poster Presentation guidelines

1. Posters can be displayed beginning at 8:00 AM. Although presenters will only need to be present at their posters/displays for one of the sessions, their poster or creative work can be displayed for both sessions.

2. Posters should be constructed on standard 3'x4' tri-fold display boards. Printed posters may also be displayed by clipping onto tri-fold boards on easels or on tables.

3. The planning committee strongly recommends that each student work with their faculty mentor(s) in preparing their poster/display. Bear in mind that the Symposium is College-wide and posters must be geared to a general audience.

4. Presenters MUST be present at their poster for the entire morning or afternoon session according to the schedule below.
