SGA ELECTION RULES and REGULATIONS All members of the Student Government Association must be students in good standing both academically and in matters of student conduct. All candidates’ academic and judicial records will be reviewed by the Advisor to the Student Government Association prior to the beginning of the campaign period. Candidates will be notified immediately should they not be eligible to run for office. Please contact the advisor to the Student Government Association should you have any questions or concerns regarding this matter. All candidates must adhere to the rules and
regulations described below
3. All posted materials must be approved by the Office of Student Activities. Following administrator approval, your materials will be stamped with an official College approval stamp. Once your materials have been approved and stamped, you may post them. 4. No posted materials are permitted on the walls,
furniture, or doors in 5. Table Tents in Charlie’s or Taylor Dining Hall are NOT ALLOWED. 6. No posted materials are permitted in any of the
following buildings: 7. Candidates are prohibited from using ANY School (SGA/CAB/Any Other Office) materials for campaign purposes (markers, paper, copier, computer, etc.) You must pay if you use the Campus Print Shop. 8. Postings in any dorm, the Campus Center etc. MUST be on the WALLS and NOT ON ANY GLASS WINDOWS or DOORS! For all postings on walls please use MASKING TAPE ONLY, no duct tape or scotch tape. 9. Sheets, banners and tapestries are NOT allowed. Postings larger than an average size poster board are not allowed (see Posting Policy). 10. Mass e-mails for your campaign are NOT allowed. 11. Each candidate is allowed one (1) advertisement on the College Bulletin Board Channel 40 for their campaign. 12. Each candidate is allowed to use the Post Office ONLY ONCE for campaigning. Prior to using the Post Office, candidates must get a Post Office Approval Form from Joe Golia in the Student Activities Office. 13. All posted materials will be removed from the inside and immediate outside of the Hagan Campus Center on the evening before the election. 14. Candidates are not allowed to aggressively campaign on the day of the elections. On Election Day there is to be no compaigning in any campus buildings, including residence halls. Candidates may campaign outside of buildings. Due to the fact the elections are on-line, candidates are on the honor system and expected to act ethically on Election Day. 15. Any candidate found responsible for tampering with another candidate’s campaign materials will be disqualified from the election. Any candidate found actively campaigning inside a campus building during Election Day will be disqualified from the election. 16. Any candidate found in violation of these rules and regulations is subject to disqualification from the election. 17. Good Luck!
