Who are the CAB Chairpersons? Diane and Lynsey are the ones who oversee all CAB-sponsored events. As you can see, their desks are always full with schedules and budget sheets, so they certainly have their work cut out for them. These two will be overseeing the great events for the rest of the 2008 spring semester with meetings, conferences, and lots of office hours. They'll also have lots of help planning events from the rest of the CAB Execs.

Don't forget! CAB General Meetings happen every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Student Activities Resource Room in the basement of the Hagan Campus Center.

Check back at this page in the future to find out about some unique events that the CAB Chairs and Execs have put together for you recently!

RENT on Broadway

RENT is a rock musical, with music and lyrics by Jonathan Larson inspired by and partially based on Giacomo Puccini's opera La bohème. The musical tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York's Alphabet City in the thriving days of the Bohemian East Village, under the shadow of AIDS.

Rent, which won an American Tony Award and a Pulitzer Prize, was one of the first Broadway musicals to feature lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender characters. In addition, its cast was noticeably ethnically diverse. Rent brought controversial topics to a traditionally conservative medium, and it helped to increase the popularity of musical theater amongst the younger generation. RENT speaks to Generation X the way that the musical Hair spoke to the baby boomers or those who grew up in the 1960's, making it "a rock opera for our time."
