Carol
Ann McGuiggan, M.A., is Co-Director of the Office of Career
Services at the Student Development and Counseling Center.
As a college career counselor, Carol uses a developmental
approach which assists students in their self-assessment,
career exploration, selection of a major, seeking an internship,
tips and techniques on the job search process, portfolio development,
resume and cover letter writing, interviewing skills, graduate
school preparation, and more.
Ms. McGuiggan is a member in good standing
of NACE (National Association of Colleges and Employers).
She has received recognition for her contribution to the Consortium
of Worcester Colleges and as a member of the Strategic Plan
for COWC, Inc. She also is a lifetime member of MERC (Massachusetts
Educational Recruiting Consortium).
Ms. McGuiggan has taught numerous college courses (credit
and non-credit) including Health Counseling. Her workshops
on Stress Management and Study Skills have been well attended.
Carol has developed four specialized Professional Development
Seminars for Seniors: Dress for Success; Networking for the
Long Run; Portfolio Development; and Business Protocol and
Dining Etiquette Tutorials.
Carol's certifications include Business
and Dining Etiquette of Asia and
the Pacific Rim. She was also awarded the National Association
of Colleges and Employers Management Leadership Institute
certification, 2001.
Other popular programs which Carol offers
include Stress Reduction,
Relaxation and Meditation Workshops. She is a seasoned yoga
practitioner
and instructor. Other interests include Zen, Tai Chi, Guided
Imagery, and
Visualization.
Carol received a Bachelor of Science degree
in Health Studies and Health
Counseling from Worcester State College and a Master of Arts
degree in
Counseling Psychology from Anna Maria College and considers
herself a
lifelong learner.
