Suellen Lazarek Dean,
M.A.
Suellen
Lazarek Dean is the Coordinator of the CALLS program (Career, Academic,
Lifetime, Learning Skills program) and has worked in education for over twenty years. She has worked as an administrator in the career services department of numerous educational institutions and was employed
as the Dean of Education for a private career school. In addition,
she has served as an adjunct faculty member in Psychology for local colleges.
Suellen is a graduate of Assumption College where she
earned a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Psychology
and Education and a minor in French. After graduating from
Assumption, Suellen taught in the Worcester Public
Schools. She chose to pursue a graduate degree in Counseling
Psychology at Boston College where she worked with the Education Department as a graduate
assistant and was a member of the Phi Delta Kappa Education
Society.
After graduate school Suellen worked in higher education in the Boston area as a Career Services professional and as a Resident Director. She began teaching psychology as an adjunct
faculty member. Suellen returned to Worcester to be
the Director of Career Services at a private educational
institution and began teaching as an adjunct faculty member at local colleges.
Suellen wrote and edited a guide to job hunting (The Job
Search Handbook, 1994) that was published by a national
outplacement firm. Suellen also co-wrote a career development
textbook (Choreographing Your Career, 2004) that was published
and sold to private career schools.
As a graduate of two liberal arts institutions, Suellen is
excited to be an integral part of an institution dedicated to the
pursuit of knowledge. Suellen enjoys working with first year and sophomore students
as they begin their portfolio development and career exploration.
