Welcome to the Student Development & Counseling Center
The Student Development & Counseling
Center (SDCC) is a department of The Office of Student Affairs.
We are staffed by professional counselors, administrative
assistants, interns, graduate assistants, and federal work-study
students. We are located across the campus road on the hill
behind the Chapel of the Holy Spirit and up the cement stairs.
Just look for the "Student Development & Counseling
Center" sign next to the stairs. We are handicapped accessible
by way of 26 Old English Road.
The SDCC staff provide confidential personal
counseling, career and life
planning, counseling and advising, and alcohol and drug education
to full time undergraduates at Assumption College.
Our professional counselors are available for individual and/or
group appointments, residence hall programming, classroom
presentations, student club and organization workshops, and
much more.
Please stop by the SDCC and allow us to
show you our facility which includes
a comfortable waiting area (with relevant reading material),
private
counselor offices, a quiet career resource room complete
with job and
internship binders and a computerized career assessment &
guidance software program (SIGI PLUS), which is available
for use by appointment. Our lower level includes a spacious
group/conference room and two well appointed interview rooms.
Please take a few minutes to peruse
our web site. We are interested in
your thoughts and
suggestions.
