Student ID Cards and Vending
Protect your identification card! Do not punch holes in it or bend
it!
Meal Plans
Your card is required for access to Taylor Dining Hall. All resident
freshman and sophomores are required to choose either the 19 or
14+ meal plan. The assigned meal plan is the 14+, but students may
switch to the 19 meal plan at the beginning of the school year.
The 19 meal plan allows students to utilize 19 meals per week, which
includes breakfast, lunch and dinner on Monday through Friday, as
well as brunch and dinner on the weekends. The 14+ meal plan allows
students to choose any 14 meals that are offered during the week.
In addition, the 14+ plan includes $100 of nonrefundable discretionary
cash (points) that may be used at Charlie's or to bring a guest
to Taylor Dining Hall.
Juniors and seniors living in housing without kitchen facilities
can choose from additional options (the 10 Flex and 6+). Students
living in apartments or townhouses with kitchen facilities or commuters
can purchase any of the meal plans offered. Students living in the
Living and Learning Center can choose any one of the meal plans
offered. The 10 Flex meal plan allows students to utilize any 10
meals that are offered during the week either at Taylor Dining Hall
or at Charlie's. There is a fixed value of $6.50 for lunch and dinner
at Charlie's. In addition, there is $60 of nonrefundable discretionary
cash (points) that can be used at Charlie's or Taylor. The 6+ meal
plan allows students to utilize any 6 meals that are offered during
the week at Taylor or Charlie's. In addition, there is $250 of nonrefundable
discretionary cash (points) that can be used at Taylor and at Charlie's.
Campus Cash
This account lets students use their Assumption College ID to make
purchases all over campus. It can be used to make purchases from
Domino's Pizza, Charlie's, the Campus Bookstore and Taylor Dining
Hall. Instead of carrying cash and fumbling with loose change, all
students need to do is present their ID card. The purchase will
be automatically deducted from the student's Campus Cash account.
To activate a Campus Cash Account, students simply go to Taylor
to deposit money into their accounts via credit card, check, or
cash. It is that simple! Campus Cash balances can be checked at
any location.
Vending Uses
The ID card has a cash-vending stripe. Value may be added to the
vending stripe by using cash at the Debitek machines located in
Charlie's Patio entrance, at Department of Public Safety, and at
the D'alson Library. The value on the vending stripe should not
exceed $25, or the card will not work in the laundry readers. Funds
may be transferred from a student's Campus Cash account to the vending
stripe at the Debitek machine in Charlie's Patio entrance.
Laundry
The laundry equipment in the residence halls are Maytag energy and
water efficient machines that only require 2 tablespoons or 1 Assumption
laundry scoop of detergent. Using more than 2 tablespoons usually
results in flooding of the machine and the laundry not being sufficiently
rinsed of detergent.
Snack & soft drink machines
Machines all over campus will accept student IDs and permit purchases
using the vending stripe.
Library Card
The ID card is needed to borrow material from the Library and to
use the copy machines at the Library.
Plourde Card
The ID card and a second pair of sneakers are needed to use the
Plourde Recreation Center.
Lost Cards
If you lose your card, report it to the Department of Public Safety
immediately. There is a $15 replacement fee for lost and damaged
cards. Any value on the vending stripe is lost with the card.
The student's meal plan and Campus Cash can be put on the new card
at Taylor Dining Hall.
